The division of worldviews (cultures) in the West and the East implies a different mentality living in these territories of peoples, that is the difference in the ways and methods of cognition, scientific, religious, artistic, aesthetic and spiritual values, basic world Outlook, socioeconomic and political structures. Western type of civilization originated in the antiquity (the first philosophical systems, ancient democracy, the samples of theoretical science) and continued development in the middle Ages. For the civilization of the Western type is characterized by installation on a rational comprehension of the meaning of life, the pursuit of mastering the forces and treasures of nature, technological development, dynamism, orientation to novelty, individualism, rationality, the priority of private ownership, which contributed to the formation of technological civilization. The Eastern perception of the world is characterized by the dominance of moral-volitional installation in contemplation, serenity, intuitive and mystical merger with Genesis; the lack of division of the world into the world of nature and society, natural and supernatural. To the East is typical of the individualistic negation of beginning; focus on teamwork; setting of adaptation of the individual to the existing social environment, not changing it; non-interference within natural processor and to live in harmony with nature. The main difference between the Eastern culture of the West is that it is based on religious principles. In the West it is based on the principles of secularism and the individual in the mainstream culture. In the East, as described above, the collective life is on the front stage.
