On March 10, 2017 from 14 hours to 16 hours in the Cathedral Mosque of St. Petersburg was held the public reception of free legal aid Fund "BENCHMARK" for social support to migrants-people living and working in Saint-Petersburg. The purpose of visiting the foster Foundation – the prevention of violations of immigration and labor laws, removing the "hotbeds of social tension" on the territory of St. Petersburg.
Migrants received legal assistance on a Pro Bono basis. Advice was provided orally on migration law and civil law and labour law. The project of free legal aid are implemented with the use of means of state support allocated as a grant in accordance with the decree of the President of the Russian Federation from 05.04.2016 No. 68-RP and on the basis of a contest organized by the Movement "Civil dignity".
Operational legal advice received over 300 migrant workers, stateless persons, forced migrants and other foreign nationals on the following issues: arrival in the Russian Federation, the citizenship of the Russian Federation, participation in the State program of resettlement of compatriots, restoration of documents, nonpayment of wages, refusal of signing an employment contract or absence record in the workbook, illegal bringing to disciplinary and administrative responsibility, failure to pay holiday pay, maternity and other social benefits, unlawful detention in custody, etc. more than 1000 people informed about the work of receiving free legal aid.
Among the participants and parishioners of the mosque were distributed free pamphlets on immigration and labor legislation. These publications released in 2016 Foundation "LANDMARK" in an accessible and understandable migrants form the most topical issues in the sphere of migration and labour disputes identified during the work of a selection of legal support with the help of the sociological research among needy foreign nationals. Volunteers of the project delivered to migrants in the order of 500 brochures.
The Fund's "BENCHMARK" established in 2011 and, according to its Statute, assisting the voluntary resettlement in Russia of immigrants-compatriots, social support, protection and information for migrants, and creates and develops the infrastructure for compatriots in the territories of their choice.
