V international scientific-practical conference "Engineering education: from school to the production" brought together representatives of education and business in Yekaterinburg on 15 and 16 March 2018.
The fifth anniversary conference was dedicated to questions of content of modern engineering education, building effective models of interaction between school—vocational education—production, updates of techniques technological education in the conditions of implementation of requirements of FSES of General education; teaching engineering and robotics as the Foundation of technical education in preschool and elementary General education, effective practices of design and of teaching and research activities at lessons of mathematics, physics, biology, technologies, computer science.
The conference was attended by 346 teachers, Directors of schools and kindergartens, employees of departments of education of Sverdlovsk region, Perm territory, Bashkortostan, Udmurtia, Chelyabinsk region, Moscow.
The event was organized by the State Autonomous educational institution of additional professional education of Sverdlovsk region "education development Institute" and LEGO Education. The purpose of the annual conference ‒ discussion and analysis for the development of continuing engineering education and presentation of innovative practices in the field of education.
The conference certified trainers LEGO Education Academy conducted master-classes dedicated to educational materials "planet STEAM" for preschool learning, new teaching methodical kit "lunar Odyssey" for basic school and set for the development of digital skills in primary school, which is based on working with solution for designing and programming LEGO® Education WeDo 2.0 platform Godwards.
In his speech, Christopher Carver, leading methodologist of LEGO Education, said that the guidelines LEGO Education encourages the freedom of creativity of teachers and invites them to use all the material in class. "It is essential that the teacher gave open thematic task and motivated kids to create new inventions, — said K. Carver. — The idea is to not just give a fixed task, even open. But to offer students independently identify the problem and try to solve it, combined by applying the knowledge acquired in other lessons and classes".
In the framework of the scientific-practical conference was a discussion platform for teachers, performances of executives and education representatives, was held the presentation of creative projects of students — winners of competitions, tournaments and Olympiads, competitions such as FIRST®LEGO® League Junior on the "Robofest".
